Everyone is welcome at St John's. Christ our gracious host welcomes all at the banquet of Word and Sacrament - regardless of gender, race, colour, sexual orientation, social status or any other distinction.
St John’s Church is a contemporary catholic Anglican parish in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne, Australia. It is a parish of the Diocese of Melbourne in the Anglican Church of Australia.
Our corporate life cherishes word and sacrament and is embedded in prayer and worship. We are committed to compassion and justice. St John's is an inclusive parish community welcoming people of all ages, gender, race, colour, creed and sexual orientation.
The parish community acknowledges the traditional custodians of the land on which St John's is built and pays their respects to the elders.
Our mission is to bring people into communion with God and with each other. Our mission is centred in Camberwell Junction and beyond – to other people and the wider needs to which God calls us.
Sermons for the Christian Year
Thanksgiving for Fr Davids Moores's ministry
Father David Moore Vicar of St John's Anglican Church, Camberwell, from 2013 to 2018. His challenging and engaging sermons during his ministry here remain a significant part of his legacy to the parish. They were published weekly on the parish website, where they can still be found. This collection of some of his sermons is published to mark the conclusion of his time as Vicar of St John's. The collection comprises a selection of his sermons for the major feasts of the Christian Year, together with sermons preached on selected important saints' days: St John The Evangelist, the parish's patron saint: Mary Magdalene, The Apostle to the Apostles: and Mary the God_bearer.

Education for Ministry
On Ascension Thursday Fr. Greg Davies gave an introduction to the Education for Ministry program, which was well-received by the parishioners present. Fr. Greg has kindly offered to hold an EFM "taster" over three Sunday mornings sometime in July. The "taster" sessions will enable interested parishioners to experience first-hand how the program works, before the parish decides whether to commit to the full program. Further details will be advised.
Meanwhile for further information and to download the Education for Ministry 2018 prospectus please follow the EFM website link which can be found on our website Links page.
